Our Story
What's in a name? For us, everything.
When we founded this company, we chose the name Konuk because it simply means “guest” in Turkish. The name says what we're about before you ever see the product. It's also our daily reminder of who we're building for.
Konuk was born from a culture where hospitality isn't just an industry; it's a way of life. Over the past decade, our founder's career in hotels took him across Europe and eventually to the United States. Somewhere along that journey, a pattern became impossible to ignore.
There are plenty of tech companies building software for hotels, but they're building from the outside in. They don't feel the daily pressure on staff, and they don't truly grasp what a guest experiences when things fall short. Complex systems keep getting layered on top of one another, and the warmth that makes hospitality what it is keeps getting squeezed out.
Konuk was built to close that gap. This isn't software built by developers guessing at what hotels need. It's the result of a genuine, lifelong passion for hospitality, built to bring real human connection back to the forefront of the guest experience.
